BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday the Chinese side is ready to enter into candid, effective consultation with the U.S. side and make cool-headed and sensible response to the impulsive moves and anxiety of the U.S. side.
He made the remarks in a signed article titled "Respect History, Look to the Future and Firmly Safeguard and Stabilize China-U.S. Relations," which was published Friday.
At the height of COVID-19, the United States went so far as to groundlessly attack and withdraw from the World Health Organization. The current U.S. administration has pulled out of more international treaties than any one before it, making itself the most damaging force of the current international order, he added.
It once again proves that some politicians in the United States would resort to all means in their fanatical effort to attack China.
"I have been to China three times. China has a rich history and culture just as what Fiji does. Cultural exchange like today's visit will help us know better each other. Needless to say, we need to respect each other's history and culture and this will help us enjoy good relationship and cooperation," he said.
